Bookkeeper

 

Applications are being accepted for the full-time position of Bookkeeper in the Finance Department located at 35 Main Street, Hooksett.  Duties include, but are not limited to, processing & maintaining payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts & accounts receivable, and clerical duties.

 The ideal candidate:

  • Good working knowledge of computerized payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts, and accounts receivable records and procedures, preferably three years of experience.
  • Ability to perform computer data input accurately and with reasonable speed.
  • Working knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Word and Excel.
  • Ability to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately with a calculator.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary when dealing with department managers and other key personnel to accurately process payroll and accounts payable, also when dealing with employees who may have questions pertaining to their paychecks.
  • The ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • To read and comprehend accounting and payroll laws.
  • The ability to establish an effective working relationship with other employees; and ability to exercise logic and judgment in the performance of all duties.

Full-time hourly position pay range up to $29.74 based on qualifications. IMPRESSIVE benefits package to include NHRS pension, Town *100% premium paid:  a) *life & *disability insurance, b) medical insurance (*2 of 3 options - opt out stipend up to $10,000), & c) dental (*1 of 3 options).  Teamsters Local 633 Mid-Management position.

Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 8:00am to 6:30pm Wednesday, and 8:00am to 12:00pm Friday.  Flextime as approved by Finance Director. Possible overtime as assigned. Work location: 35 Main Street, Hooksett, NH.
