Recreation Programmer

Are you an energetic and creative leader with a passion for recreation?  The City of Keeneā€™s Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for a full-time Recreation Programmer!

Duties:

Develops and implements a variety of recreational programs and events for youth, adults, and seniors in the community.
Leads the department in the recruitment of staff and volunteers for a variety of seasonal programs and activities, and is responsible for training, supervising, and coaching of staff.
Promotes the department through social media platforms, department website, and other marketing venues.
Manages, schedules, and supervises the recreation programs for the City, which includes specialized programs such as the CATCH after school program; youth, adult, and senior sports leagues; exercise groups; two outdoor seasonal pools; and special recreation programming such as summer concerts and movies, bus trips, Special Olympics and other community events, as well as events sponsored by outside organizations.
Manages budget development and purchasing of equipment for various programs.

Salary Range: $61,906 - $77,146 annualized. The City offers numerous opportunities for growth and development, along with a comprehensive benefits program, including health, dental, life insurances, earned time, and retirement plans.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in recreation, recreation and parks management, business management, or related field, plus three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft products and other specialized publishing software, databases, and various social media platforms.
Valid NH Driver's License.
Parks and Recreation Professional Certification or able to obtain within 1 year.
Certified Youth Sports Administrator, or able to obtain within 2 years.
First Aid, CPR and AED Certified, Certified Pool Operator.
The ability to work a flexible work schedule outside of regular working hours to meet the needs of the department, which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
