The City of Portsmouth is hiring for 3 Custodians. The positions are full time, 40 hours a week and follow one of the schedules listed below. However, we are willing to be flexible to accommodate your availability.
Monday-Friday: 3pm-11pm (2 openings)
or
Monday- Friday: 4pm-12am (1 opening)

NATURE OF WORK
The purpose of this position is to maintain public buildings and grounds under the incumbents care in a safe, clean, sanitary, neat appearing, comfortable and fully functioning condition for use by its occupants. These objectives are accomplished by performing routing maintenance work in operating building mechanical and electrical systems; repairing other building systems such as doorways, windows, locking devices, pumps, and plumbing fixture; refinishing ceiling, wall and floor surfaces; maintaining trees, shrubs, grass and other plants adjacent to assigned buildings and performing all types of custodial work responsive to the needs to building occupants, weather conditions and special building uses or features such as gyms, pools, auditoriums, and related equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant for this position must have a high school diploma or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED) and at least one (1) year of work experience. Previous custodial experience is desirable.
