With summer quickly drawing to a close, and with little but a month to go until the ghosts and goblins start hitting doorsteps looking for tricks or treats, there are many who are now wondering how COVID-19 will impact Halloween.

Trick or treating may be seen as a medium-risk activity since it largely takes place outdoors but wearing a frightening face mask and practicing social distancing will still play key roles to an enjoyable Halloween.

Join Sophia Johnson, Health Officer Specialist, and Matthew Cahillane, Program Manager, with the Bureau of Public Health Protection, Division of Public Health Services, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, who will review additional safety measures following public health guidance for “Fairs and Festivals” and “Fall Road Races” as well as Halloween-specific considerations.  NHMA’s Legal Services Counsel, Natch Greyes, will offer some legal guidance and practical advice for cities and towns looking to develop their own trick or treating procedures.
