Workshop Presenters and Description
Daniel Piatt, Inspector with the NHDOL/Wage & Hour Division, will provide a comprehensive overview of an employee life cycle and the employer’s obligation in each step. Special focus will also be paid to the workers compensation and safety laws and regulations specific to municipal employers.
Brian Cleasby, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist with the USDOL/Wage & Hour Division, will focus on computing proper overtime under the FLSA. Brian will also cover the types of compensation that need to be included in the “regular rate” and common issues resulting in overtime shortages. In addition, the EAP (Executive, Administrative, & Professional) minimum and overtime exemption relating to public sector employees will be discussed in detail.
