Job Summary:
This entry level position performs technical work involving the operation and maintenance of a water and wastewater treatment plant. Perform repairs and routine maintenance on water distribution system, fire hydrants, service lines, mainline piping, and meters. Performs repairs and routine maintenance on wastewater collection and septage receiving station. Assists in the general maintenance on facilities and grounds such as snow removal, mowing and trimming, and building maintenance. Weekend coverage of the facilities are a requirement and will be done on a rotating basis. Response to emergencies outside of normal working hours will be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of basic math and chemistry. Knowledge of mechanics, plumbing, and electronics. Ability to record data accurately. Ability to perform routine laboratory tests and analysis. Ability to perform minor maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment. Maintain effective working relationships with other departments, employees, other agencies, and public. Knowledge of repairing/installing water and sewer mains, service lines, hydrants, and meters desired.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and experience and/or training in water/wastewater treatment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
Applicants must obtain NH Water Works Operations Licenses, WW Treatment within one year.
