POSITION:                      Wastewater Assistant            

DEPARTMENT:            Wastewater Treatment Facility         

HOURS WORKED:    Monday – Friday, 6:45am – 2:45pm

STARTING SALARY:   Hourly rate not to exceed $24.87 - Job Grade 3        

PRIMARY DUTIES

Performs all interior and exterior custodial duties and light maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Facility and pump stations. Duties include, but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning WWTP equipment and tanks, general grounds keeping, and snow removal.  Assists Wastewater Treatment personnel – for example, acts as safety person, rinses tanks and equipment, retrieves parts & tools, operates winches, directs traffic, opens manholes and catch basin covers, and removes debris.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Six months or less of relevant experience; must be able to follow written and oral instructions; must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and attain CDL-B within 6 months of hire.
