IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR

(1) Truck Driver / Equipment Operator (Grade 15)

Due to a retirement within the Department, DPW has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver/Equipment Operator. This is a full-time (40/hrs/wk) union position with the Town of Milford and reports directly to the Director or Highway Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment as in dump trucks, loaders, grader, backhoes and other moderately complex equipment.
  • The Equipment Operator will, at times, exercise supervision over other departmental employees by acting as LEAD for crews on job sites.

Requirements:

  •  Candidate(s) must be able to understand and follow oral and written directives.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a valid NH Class B CDL (Class A preferred).
  • Must have the ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner, along with the demonstration of solid moral characteristics of being a conscientious, honest, energetic and dependable employee while maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, plus a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience within the area of winter / summer municipal road maintenance; OR any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skill and ability.

This position is classified as a pay grade 15, $17.38 - $27.88 per hour, commensurate with experience, and includes an excellent benefits package to include NHRS retirement plan.
