Under the general direction of the Finance Director, the Town Accountant will be responsible for high-level financial accounting, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with municipal and state finance regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Supervisory responsibilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal accounting or a comparable combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. Strong computer proficiency is essential. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and a credit check.
A competitive salary up to $100,347 (effective July 1, 2025) plus excellent benefits. The position is part of the Hudson Police, Fire, and Town Supervisors Association. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
