Senior Assistant Building Inspector

The Town of Hampton, NH (estimated population 15,500) is a dynamic Rockingham County community rich in tradition with a vibrant and expanding economic base.  We are seeking a full-time Senior Assistant Building Inspector to assist the Building Inspector in issuing all permits including building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related permits required by the Town and makes inspections of all new construction and renovation projects to assure compliance with adopted codes and ordinances. Enforces public health laws and regulations and sanitary investigations as Deputy Health Officer.  Performs all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma; Associate Degree or above preferred; 5-10 years experience in construction, engineering, electrical, plumbing trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; possession of electrical, plumbing licenses, International Code Certification’s preferred.  Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. 

The work week is 40 hours and the hourly wage for this position is $31.00/Hr.  The Town offers an excellent benefit package and state retirement.  Pre-employment testing to include criminal background, medical and drug screen.
