Police Officers (Certified)
The Durham, New Hampshire Police Department is seeking two certified Police Officer candidates. The applicants selected will provide law enforcement and community-oriented services to our diverse Seacoast/University community. The Durham Police Department is a Meritorious CALEA Accredited agency.
Patrol Officers work a 4 day on 3 day off schedule. Special assignments include: Problem Oriented Police (POP), Detective Division, Special Response Team (SRT), Evidence Collection Team, Mountain Bike Patrol and School Resource Officer (SRO).
Starting salary is between $58,388.00 and $61,529.00, depending on experience. Most of our officers make over $100,000.00 a year with our benefits package and overtime/details. Officers receive 8 hours a month vacation leave, 8 hours a month sick leave and 30 hours a year personal leave. Our last community survey rated us with a 96% approval rating, which is way above the national average. The Durham Police Department does not have a residence requirement.
Applicants must be 21 years old by the anticipated date of appointment and must be a high school graduate or hold a GED.
