Permit Clerk (Part-Time)
The Town of Newton has an immediate opening for a qualified candidate for the position of Permit Clerk. This candidate is responsible for the performance of clerical duties and building permit related tasks in the Department of Building Safety. Duties include assisting the public, computer data entry, and receipt/review/processing of permit applications.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience providing clerical, secretarial office support for a Building Code Enforcement Office and Zoning, or related agency or business. Must have the ability to deal professionally and effectively with the public and co-workers. This is a part time position, requiring 10-12 hours per week.
Salary: Commensurate with training and experience, range $17.00-$20.00
