Position: Public Works Office Clerk
Pay Range: $19.54 to $25.64 /hr
Job Location: 13 Newfields Road, Town of Exeter DPW
Requirements/Qualifications: Under the general supervision of the Business Manager, responsible for providing clerical support to all divisions within the Public Works Department. Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment, including using computers. Ability to learn and implement office procedures related to Department, Town, State, and Federal policies, rules, procedures, codes, and ordinances. Ability to handle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, to establish positive public relations for the Department, and to interact with a wide variety of people. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the customers and general public and to convey concise and accurate explanations of policies, procedures, and requirements. Serves as a backup to the Business Manager. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duties require knowledge of clerical/secretarial skills equivalent to completion of a high school diploma and one to three years of related experience.
