The Town of Tuftonboro is seeking proposals from qualified environmental consultants to assist on the Town’s behalf the environmental administration of a former town landfill located at 20 Sargents Crossing Road and Mountain Road (NH Route 171), DES Site # 198405083, Project #106, Groundwater Mgmt. Permit Number GWP-198405083-T-006. The Permit was recently renewed for another period of 5 years by NHDES to monitor groundwater quality at the referenced site. The consultants should be familiar with all requirements associated with all permits affecting this site. The landfill and wetlands are within the upper reaches of the Melvin River Watershed and the Great Meadow. The potential for adverse impacts to these resources requires the town to apply due diligence to the information collected and determine if there are specific actions, steps or procedures that can be implemented in a cost effective manner to protect the downstream resources.
The consultant shall review pertinent State files accessed at the NHDES’ OneStop database system and Groundwater Mgmt. Permit Number GWP-198405083-T-006 details in order to prepare a scope of work and cost estimate to meet the Town of Tuftonboro’s obligations with respect to the Solid Waste Permit and Groundwater Management Plan.
