Director of Transportation
Fall Mountain Regional School District is searching for a Director of Transportation. Responsibilities include planning, directing, coordinating and overseeing all functions pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the transportation department, including personnel, equipment, and fleet vehicles, to ensure safe and efficient transportation of students between home, school and school events.
Our transportation department serves approximately 1600 students in the towns of Acworth, Alstead, Charlestown, Langdon and Walpole New Hampshire, employs 25-30 people and maintains about 25 vehicles.
The successful candidate will have five years of experience in scheduling, routing and safe operation of a large fleet of school buses or similar system, including at least two years of supervisory experience; knowledge of vehicle maintenance scheduling; ability to lead, train and motivate staff and remain calm and professional in an environment with frequent interruptions; excellent communication skills; knowledge of transportation laws and regulations; Class B CDL with school bus, passenger and air brake endorsements and a safe driving record; high school diploma or GED, with a bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, management, transportation or a related field preferred.
Our district is in a rural area of beautiful southwestern New Hampshire, two hours from Boston, just across the river from Vermont, and offers abundant outdoor recreation activities.
