Deputy Finance Director

 

The Town of Merrimack, NH is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Deputy Finance Director.  This position is responsible for assisting the Finance Director in maintaining the general accounting records of the Town in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and with state statutes and regulations, and other special finance related projects as assigned. This is a supervisory position with responsibility of the direct supervision of the Purchasing Agent/Accountant, Account Clerk II and Account Clerk III.

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and three years of progressively responsible general accounting and supervisory experience; Certified Public Accountant license and municipal accounting experience preferred, but not required, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The Town of Merrimack offers an excellent benefit package.  Health, life, and short-term disability insurance premiums are currently 100% employer paid.  Includes paid vacation, sick, & personal leave, and participation in the New Hampshire Retirement System.  This is an FLSA exempt position with a starting salary expected to be $71,593 – $82,000/yr. depending upon qualifications and experience.  Up to 5% wage increase upon successful completion of probationary period.
