Department of Public Works Director

The Town of Greenfield (pop 1,750, Seasonal to 3300) seeks a creative, team oriented professional to serve as Department of Public Works Director. Greenfield is located in Hillsborough County with historic buildings downtown, Oak Park and recreation facilities, and an active community. The Town seeks a professional, seasoned, and exemplary manager to join a team of committed Department Heads. This position requires hands on equipment operation and administrative responsibilities. CDL required.

Under the direction of a three person Selectboard and Town Administrator, oversees all operational and maintenance aspects of the community’s roadways, grounds, and public facilities management. BA/BS in Engineering, Public or Business Administration, or closely related field strongly preferred; 8 to 10 years of experience in municipal management, project planning & supervision and general administration or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Candidates must have knowledge of the following in a municipal setting: public works administration, engineering practices and principles; construction practices and principles; report writing and preparation; and applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and

regulations. Experience in winter storm response, facilities operation and maintenance, project planning and team-orientation are necessary; strong citizen service attitude is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong budget & management skills, a team oriented leadership style and demonstrated enthusiasm in pursuit of creative solutions to meet public works challenges.
