Construction Inspector (Part-time)

The City of Rochester Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a part-time (32 hours per week) Construction Inspector to perform construction inspection work in connection with all phases of private development and as required, construction inspection related to municipal public works projects. The Construction Inspector will work to anticipate, meet, and exceed customer service expectations in a positive and
professional manner.

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 10 years construction experience as a construction site/ utility/roadway superintendent, clerk of the works, resident inspector, or construction site monitor
  • Bachelors or associates degree in civil engineering technology or construction science a plus
  • Planar surveying experience a plus
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required

Non-union grade 9. Pay range $23.38 to $31.51 dependent on qualifications with competitive benefits. Pre-employment testing to include criminal, driving record, medical & drug screen.
