Code Enforcement Officer (Part-time)
This is a part-time (24 hours/week) flexible position under the direction of the Selectboard and reporting directly to the Town Administrator. Duties will include: administering and enforcing the Town’s building, planning, and zoning regulations; processing building applications; advising and scheduling applicants; conducting building inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes; conducting zoning inspections to ensure compliance with zoning regulations; conducting site plan and subdivision inspections to ensure compliance with planning regulations; conducting inspections of projects approved with conditions by the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment to ensure compliance with the conditions of approval; performing administrative and clerical functions related to building codes, permits and procedures; prosecuting building code and planning and zoning regulation violations in the applicable legal forum; reviewing buffer zone cut applications with conservation commission input for recommendation to the Selectboard; and performing other related duties as needed. The Code Enforcement Officer will also serve as a liaison between the Town and other appropriate state and federal agencies.
Familiarity with building codes and enforcement procedures are required as are good record keeping and interpersonal skills. Must have a valid New Hampshire driver’s license and own vehicle. Some evening work required. Familiarity with planning and zoning regulations, computer skills and experience with municipal operations helpful. Pay rate commensurate with experience.
