Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer/Health Officer

The Town of Hampton is seeking applications from highly qualified candidates for the position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer/Health Officer.

This position reports directly to the Town Manager and requires exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.  Responsibilities include reviewing construction plans and specifications, issuing building permits, and inspecting work for compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws on all types of building construction; new construction, and renovations, remodels, and additions to existing structures.  Assures compliance with Town ordinances, Health Laws, special permit conditions, storm water permit decisions, zoning bylaws, plan review, FEMA flood regulations.  Serves as an educator in this field, and fosters a team effort within the department, and oversees other inspectors.  Successful candidate will have minimum three (3) years’ experience in the supervision of building construction.

This is a 40-hour per week position, annual salary range is $62,025 to $83,740 with a competitive benefit package, depending upon qualifications and experience.
