Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer (Part-time)

The Town of Henniker, NH, is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer.

This is a part-time position working approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. The salary range is $22.11 - $31.01 per hour, DOQ.

Under the Town Administrator's general supervision, the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for issuing building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits. Performing inspections to enforce ICC codes, federal, state, and town laws, rules, codes, and regulations relating to building construction, inspection, code compliance, and zoning enforcement. Plan review for all commercial, industrial and residential buildings.

Minimum qualifications a High School Diploma; Associate Degree or above preferred; 3-5 years experience in construction, engineering, electrical, plumbing trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Possession of electrical, plumbing licenses; International Code Certifications preferred.

In addition, the successful candidate should possess a demonstrated ability to work effectively with other town departments, town and state officials, and the general public. Candidates must communicate well, have the ability to plan and maintain an organized schedule and keep accurate records.
