Administrative Assistant - Recreation Department
The Town of Peterborough is seeking an energetic, proactive, and self-motivated person to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant for the Recreation Department. The recreation department is very active all year around. If you are looking for a position to be a contributing member of a cohesive team, this is the position for you! In addition to traditional Administrative Assistant responsibilities, this position also requires some programming assistance.
Duties will include but not be limited to interacting with all members of the general public in a respectful and timely manner. This position has the primary function of supporting the Recreation Department’s numerous programs by scheduling individuals’ applications to their program of choice, taking and processing their payment for the program, and processing the parttime employees’ weekly timesheets.
Applicants should possess strong organizational skills, including having the ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets and databases. Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a team, while maintaining confidentiality. Prior experience in a professional office setting is desired.
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Salary range is $21 to $25 per hour. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Job description is located on the Town website at
This is a dog friendly office. Several employees bring their dog to work.
