Police Records Specialist

The City of Keene’s Police Department is now accepting applications for a Police Records Specialist!  If you pride yourself on your administrative, customer service, and organizational skills, then this is the job for you!  This full-time position has a competitive pay range of $21.33- $26.58 per hour. 

In this position you will provide administrative and hands-on support to prosecution using knowledge of court procedures and procedural law.  This position provides all discoverable material to attorneys and, in special cases, forensic psychologists for competency hearings, as well as provides all releasable reports and records to the public and other agencies upon request.  Other duties include interpreting and comprehending legal and non-legal documents including the preparation and processing of documents, reports, and case files to support prosecution.   The Records Specialist prepares and processes all case files for prosecutors and the court process and ensures that all appropriate records, reports, materials, and information needed are provided as well as monitors and tracks the collection of restitution monies to be paid to victims and prepares, issues and tracks subpoenas for trials, and more!
 
The ideal candidate will be able to work successfully independently, with the public, with courts, and with state and other law enforcement agencies.  Requirements include a high school diploma or GED plus 3 years of office experience and/or training.  Confidentiality, organization, and prioritization skills are a must in the position!
