WELLDollars Program

Did you know that approximately 25 percent of medical claims are reportedly lifestyle-related and due to conditions such as obesity, stress, or lack of exercise? HealthTrust's WELLDollars Discretionary Grant Program is available to help groups implement appropriate, onsite health and safety activities that work to reduce employees' overall health risks.

Past WELLDollars-funded projects include opening a four-season recreational trail and equipping onsite fitness rooms. Group representatives with an idea for a health or safety or activity or program for their school, municipality, county, police or fire department are welcome to apply for financial assistance. Grant amounts vary according to the size of the group but generally follow these guidelines:

• Up to $2,000 for a group or department of up to 25 people
• Up to $4,000 for an entire municipality or school district with 25 or more employees
• Up to $2,000 for police or fire departments with grant request that include fitness components to  meet  job-related fitness requirements.
