Benefits Overview

As a New Hampshire school, municipal, or county government employee, you’ll see many advantages with LGC HealthTrust. With comprehensive coverage and a unique wellness program, we make it easy for you to take care of yourself and your loved ones. We travel to your location to provide guidance and health education. We research and answer questions about your coverage. Real people monitor your claims and make certain your concerns are heard.

While your exact benefit options depend on the choices your employer makes, our programs are administered by many of the region’s premiere health care organizations, including:

And as long as at least 75 percent of your group continues to obtain medical coverage through LGC HealthTrust and you meet certain guidelines, you also have the comfort of knowing you’ll have coverage available through LGC HealthTrust in your retirement years.

Comprehensive Medical Coverage
All LGC HealthTrust medical plans provide comprehensive, high-quality coverage, including coverage for:

  • Hospitalization and surgery,
  • Doctors’ visits, including regular physical exams,
  • Tests, including preventive tests and cancer screenings,
  • Pregnancy care and routine care for women,
  • Well-care for children, and
  • Lots more.

Slice of Life Health Management Program
The Slice of Life health management program is available to assist you and your covered family members in addressing a variety of health-related needs--from identifying any health risks you may have to getting personalized health coaching and valuable educational support.

Transition Care+
Transition Care provides your family with short-term extended health and/or dental benefits –– at no cost to them. It works in conjunction with the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) of 1985. COBRA is a federal law that allows covered members to continue their group health coverage, generally by paying its total cost, in the months following the death of a covered employee. However, in respect of the trust you’ve put in LGC HealthTrust, we will absorb the COBRA costs and continue coverage for up to 12 months after your death at no cost to your previously enrolled family members.

Survivor Care+
Survivor Care provides extended health and/or dental benefits at no charge to your family if you die while performing your job responsibilities. With Survivor Care, your family’s coverage may continue after the end of the extended COBRA period –– 36 months. Provided your dependents remain eligible, LGC HealthTrust will continue their health and/or dental benefits at no cost to them. This coverage may not necessarily be the same as what was provided through COBRA. Your family will continue to receive LGC HealthTrust-sponsored coverage at no cost until the earliest of the events described previously.

+To take advantage of Survivor Care or Transitional Care, your family members must notify your employer of your death and elect COBRA coverage. Information on electing COBRA coverage is available by contacting your employer or LGC HealthTrust at 800.527.5001. Upon receiving all required notification, LGC HealthTrust will extend Survivor Care and Transitional Care privileges.
